Aye, Charles


AYE, CHARLES, died on November 22, 2007 after an extended battle with cancer. Charles was born in St. Louis, MO on December 3, 1930 to Cyril Foster Aye and his wife, Josephine DeLong. Charles attended Miami Jackson High School. He received a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a Master's degree for the University of Miami. He served in the United States Army and worked for Miami-Dade Public Schools in the Office of Information Technology. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Elisabeth Aye. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Skinner and her husband, Ronald Skinner, two grandchildren, John Charles Lux, Stephanie Lux Fernandez; four great-grandchildren, Leif Fernandez, Jr., Megan Fernandez, Alex Lux and John Lux, Jr., as well as dear friend, Edie Case. Charles was an active member of the Elks Lodge 948 in Miami for twelve years and joined the American Legion, South Miami Post in 2007. He was also a member of the Theater League of South Miami and the Everglades Bicycle Club. Charles Aye enjoyed a full, multi- faceted life. His wit, creativity and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. Visitation will be on Monday, 11/26 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Caballero- Rivera Funeral Home at 11655 SW 117 Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, 11/27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church at 7270 S.W. 120 St., Miami, FL.
